Initial Device Setup
🔋 We recommend charging the device fully before first use. The S700 requires a minimum of 12W of power to charge correctly. When fully charged, you should expect the battery to last about 15 hours.
To turn on the card terminal, hold down the power button for 5 seconds until a purple Stripe screen appears.
Complete the initial setup by selecting your language and country, and then connect to a Wi-Fi network.
🛜 Your WiFi network must use WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Personal or WPA2/WPA3 EAP-PEAP Enterprise encryption and must be password-protected. IPv6-only networks are not supported.
Once you reach the Register this reader screen, you are ready to pair your card terminal with Phorest using the code displayed on-screen.
Pairing Your Card Terminal with Phorest
To pair your card terminal, open Phorest and go to Manager > PhorestPay > Settings, enable the In-store card payments with PhorestPay setting, then select Add Card Terminal.
Click Add > Enter the pairing code that is displayed on your card terminal > give the card terminal a Name > Click Add.
The card terminal will now be paired with Phorest and automatically apply some updates.
⏳ These updates can take ~15 minutes to complete. While waiting, you can continue with the remaining steps in this guide.
Your Previous Card Terminal
If you previously used a different card terminal before PhorestPay, it’s recommended to create a new Payment Type for it.
Once your PhorestPay terminal is enabled, the default Credit and Debit payment types will automatically merge into a single Card payment type, which is used exclusively for processing payments through PhorestPay. Setting up a distinct Payment Type for your old terminal will make it easier to manage and refund past transactions, as refunds for those sales cannot be processed through PhorestPay.
