This article will show you how you can customize the tip settings on your PhorestPay Card Terminal.
This feature is available to businesses using PhorestPay through Stripe.
Latest Version of Phorest Required
This feature requires Phorest version 8.4.43 or higher. You can get the latest version here on our Downloads page.
PhorestGo 2.0 Required
If you process payments with your PhorestPay Card Terminal using PhorestGo, you will need to use the latest PhorestGo 2.0 app for these settings to work. You can find PhorestGo 2.0 by searching for it on your app store or through one of the links below.

To access your Card Terminal tipping settings, go to Manager > PhorestPay > Settings.
Ensure your Tip Prompt Percentages are Enabled, and then click Edit Settings to access the tipping settings menu.

In the Settings menu, you can customize your PhorestPay Card Terminal tipping options.
You will need to restart your PhorestPay Card Terminal after making any changes to allow for them to take effect. To restart, press and hold the power button on the side of the Card Terminal, then select Restart.

Tip Prompt Percentages
You can customize the tip % amounts that appear on the Card Terminal screen. The order of appearance for tipping amounts on your Card Terminal screen will be top-to-bottom, following the left-to-right order on the settings screen (example below using the settings in the screenshot above).
A Custom tip and a No tip option are also displayed underneath your tipping amounts.
Fixed Tip Threshold
When the Fixed Tip Threshold setting is enabled, your client will be prompted to add a monetary tip amount instead of a percentage tip amount for sales where the total price is below your threshold amount.
For example, using the settings in the screenshot above, the Card Terminal will display $5, $7 and $10 tipping options for every sale where the sale total is below $50. If the sale total is $50 or higher, then the tip prompt percentages will be displayed instead.
Include Retail Sales in Tips
This setting allows you to choose whether the tip amount should be calculated based on both services and retail or only on services in the sale. When disabled, the tip percentage is calculated using the total price of services only.
If this setting is Disabled, tipping will not be prompted on Open Sales or Series/Course sales.
Tip Prompt with Saved Cards
