What is the difference between client and appointment notes?

This article explains the difference between client, current, and past appointment notes.

Client Notes

Write general notes about a particular client such as coffee preferences, hobbies, or things to chat about.

Select an appointment in the calendar > Click the Notes button > Open the Client notes tab to view and update the text.

Alternatively, you can open an appointment and click the View & Edit button in the Client notes section.

Notes can also be accessed per client by going to Clients > Search for and open a client card > Basic Information > Client notes.

Appointment Notes

Write notes to specify client requests for current appointments, such as color formulas or types used, preferences, and reasons for no shows or cancellations.

Select an appointment in the calendar > Click the Notes button > Open the Appointment notes tab to view and update the text.

Current and Past Appointment Notes

Notes entered in the Current appointment notes section will later appear in the Past appointment notes section, including a date stamp as a reference for the appointment date.

Ten appointment notes will be displayed in total. If there are current appointment notes, they will be displayed along with nine past appointment notes. If there are no current notes, then ten past appointment notes will show.

You can set the client settings to highlight appointment notes and/or client notes in amber.

Notes can also be accessed per client appointment by going to Clients > Search for and open a client card > Appointment history > Open an appointment > View notes in the Summary.
