This guide shows you how to add a review and approval step to your Treatment Plans so senior staff or Medical Directors can review them before they're marked as complete.

Enabling the Approval Setting
To enable the approval setting, go to Manager > Consultations > Consultation Settings, then enable the Require Review Before Completing Treatment Plans setting and click Save to finish.
Choosing Which Plans Need Approval
Next, decide which of your Treatment Plan templates require approval. You might want approval for treatments like injectables, but not for other procedures, such as facials.
Go to Manager > Consultations > Treatment Plan Templates > Click on a template to edit it > Enable the Require Review Before Completion setting, and click Save.
Repeat this process for any other templates that require review and approval.
Assigning Approval Permission to Staff
Next, review your access level permissions to decide who should and shouldn't be able to review and approve submitted Treatment Plans.
Go to Manager > Access, and use the Access Level dropdown to select an access level.
Search 'treatment plans' to view all access permissions related to Treatment Plans, then enable the Approve Treatment Plans permission and click Save.
Repeat this process for any additional access levels that should have this permission enabled.
How Does it Work?
Once the approval setting is enabled, any Treatment Plans that require review before completion will now show a Submit for Review button at the end, whereas plans that don't require review will show a Save and Complete button.
After a patient's treatment plan has been submitted from Draft for review, you can review and approve it by going to Manager > Consultations > View Consultations > Plans, where you will see a new Needs Review section, with all plans pending review and approval.
To review and approve a pending plan, select it. After it's been reviewed, select the Save and Complete button to submit as completed.
The plan will then move to the Completed section.
