How do I set up a referral system with my TreatCards?

This article shows how you can give clients points on their TreatCard whenever they refer another client to your business.

The TreatCard referral scheme has been shown to help businesses grow their client base by awarding bonus points for every new client referred. Referring clients also receive an automated ‘Thank You’ text, encouraging them to continue recommending your salon to others.

Enabling the TreatCard Referral System

To enable the TreatCard referral system, go to Marketing > TreatCard > Settings.

Scroll down and enter the number of Points for a successful referral.

Click Save changes, and your TreatCard referral system will now be enabled.

Setting this to 0 points will disable the TreatCard referral system.


Sending the Referral 'Thank You' SMS.

You can enable an SMS to be sent to the referring (existing) client to let them know that they have received TreatCard points as a reward for their referral.

To do this, go to ManagerClient NotificationsTreatcard Referral.

Customize the SMS template if you wish, and click Save changes.

Then, go to the Settings tab > Enable the SMS > Click Save changes to finish.

SMS messages are charged at your standard SMS rate.


How Does it Work?

When a client mentions that they were referred by another one of your clients, open the client's Client Card.

Under Basic information: Client Settings section, select the client's name from the Referred by field and click Save changes.

You will then be prompted to award that client with TreatCard points.

If you have the TreatCard SMS enabled, an SMS will automatically be sent to this client after you click Yes on this prompt, letting them know that they've received points for the referral.

Note: The SMS message typically takes 20-30 seconds to send.
