How do I fix the 'Instagram account not connected' error in Ads Manager?

This article will show you how to resolve an issue preventing you from running Ads on your Instagram account using Phorest Ads Manager.

To fix this issue, start by clicking here to go to your Instagram accounts settings page in Meta Business Manager.

Confirm that you are viewing the settings for the relevant business page by checking the Business portfolio name at the top of the page.

If it is not the right account, you can switch to the correct business portfolio by using the sidebar menu.


Confirm Your Facebook & Instagram are Connected

Next, under the Instagram accounts settings, confirm that you can see your Facebook page listed under Connected assets > Facebook Page.

If your Facebook Page isn't appearing, click Connect assets, select the relevant Page and Ad account, then click Add.


Repeat in Classic Business Manager Settings

Next, scroll down the sidebar and select Business Manager.

Then select Go to Business Manager settings.

Next, select Instagram Accounts from the sidebar menu, then click Connected assets and confirm you can see your Ad account listed.

If your ad account isn't appearing, select Assign assets, select the relevant ad account, then select Add.


Create a New Connection in Phorest

Finally, open Phorest, go to Marketing > Manage my ads >  select the Facebook Page dropdown menu > Add new Facebook page.

Continue the steps to reconnect your Facebook page, ensuring that your verify the following:

  • Business Portfolio (as shown in Meta)
  • Facebook Page (must be connected to Instagram)
  • Instagram Profile (must be linked to the Facebook Page)
  • Ad Account (must be connected to the Instagram account)
  • Meta Pixel (used to track conversions)

Complete the setup, and you should now be able to select Instagram placements for your campaigns, and preview both Facebook and Instagram ads within Phorest Ads Manager.
