How do I limit staff choices for new clients in online booking?

This article will show you how to configure your online booking settings to restrict staff options for new clients.

Limiting Staff Availability

You can limit a staff member's availability by going to ManagerStaff Members > click the staff member to open their profile > Settings.

Under Online Booking Availability, choose whether the staff member can be booked by everyone or returning clients only.


How Does it Work?

If a staff member is set to be Available for Returning Clients Only, they will only show availability online for clients who have completed an appointment in the past.

If a new client who has never visited before tries to book an appointment with that staff member, no availability will be shown.

Returning clients must be logged in to their online booking account to see appointment availability as a returning client. If they are not logged in, they will not see any availability, as shown in the image above.


Multiple Locations in Phorest

If your business has multiple locations in Phorest, it's important to note that clients who have had an appointment in any of your locations will be considered 'returning clients' at other locations.

For example, a client who has had an appointment in Location A will also be considered as 'returning' should they try to book in 'Location B' without having visited that location before.
