This article will show you how to remove/delete a Phorest licence key from a computer or change a licence key to point to another business while using either an Apple Mac or a Windows computer.
Note: This guide is only applicable if you have already installed and activated Phorest on the computer before.
If you are looking to install Phorest for the first time and need a licence key, please contact support@phorest.com Important to note that our Support team will need authorization from the account owner before providing a licence key.
Step-by-step guide for Macs

In the top toolbar of your Mac, click Finder > Go > Go to Folder (or press Cmd+Shift+G at the same time)

In the search box enter ~/.memento and press Go.

In this folder, find the memento.cfg file, right-click and Move to Trash

Your licence key is now removed. Launch Phorest again and you will be prompted to enter a new licence key.
Step-by-step guide for Windows

Click the yellow Folder icon on your taskbar at the bottom of your screen (or press Ctrl+E at the same time)

Double-click into your (C:) drive

Open the Memento7 folder

Find the memento.cfg file, right-click and Delete it.

Your licence key is now removed. Launch Phorest again and you will be prompted to enter a new licence key.
