How do I fix missing or failed Xero/QuickBooks sync data in Phorest?

This guide will show you how to resync sales or transactions for a chosen date if your Phorest integration didn’t send data to Xero or QuickBooks.

To retry a failed sync, go to Manager > Integrations > Select either Xero or QuickBooks (whichever one you use) > Manage Integration.

Next, select Sync History, check the box next to the date(s) you wish to retry, then select Retry.

Finding the Reason for the Error

If you see a Failure badge, you can hover your mouse over the badge to see the reason for the error.

Sync failures often happen because a field isn't mapped correctly in your Payment Types or Tax mapping. For more details on mapping, click here.


If You Are Using Xero

Any resynced entries sent to Xero will be created as Draft invoices/transactions. You will need to manually change these to Posted in Xero.

This does not affect QuickBooks. It’s specific to Xero, as Xero doesn’t allow resynced data to be automatically posted.

It is not possible to resync a journal that has already been posted, as Xero only allows resync attempts on draft journals.
